Fendi Chateau Residences, a Miami Favorite
Over the past few years, southern Florida has seen a trend of luxury brands collaborating with real estate developers to build high-end condos. These designer condos provide a custom experience which gives developers an edge in an oversaturated housing market. In the tiny Miami shoreline community of Surfside, the Château Group and FENDI have created a 12-story luxury tower called the FENDI Château Residences, set to open in the spring of 2016. Kristin and I visited this project on our trip to Miami a few weeks ago and were very impressed. Outside of the 1 Hotel and Residences, this was my favorite project among those we visited and in terms of the quality of finishes, was far above the best.
The boutique development features 58 3-to-5-bedroom residences ranging in size from 3,325 sq ft to over 7,000 sq feet. At $5-22 million, a unit in this development will cost over four times the average $464/sq foot for the area. Residents will enjoy custom FENDI interiors, terraces overlooking the ocean, private elevators, and lush outdoor spaces.
The town of Surfside, Florida measures only 1 square mile – and half of that is water. In addition to its vicinity to the Bal Harbour Shops, Surfside boasts a mile of coastline which tends to be much quieter than its neighbor to the south, Miami Beach. Visitors can rent bicycles and enjoy beachside cycling paths, or visit Turtle Walk, a public art display that supports sea turtle research, conservation, and advocacy. Between January and April, the town hosts a community block party on the third Thursday of each month featuring live music, food trucks, and prize giveaways. Throughout the rest of the year, Surfside offers plenty of options for dining, including Flanigan’s Seafood Bar & Grill for family dining or Pescecane Ristorante for those seeking a fine dining experience.
